Taylor Fresh Foods, the parent company of Taylor Farms, has issued a voluntary recall of several products containing jalapeños over concerns of potential salmonella contamination. The decision follows an earlier recall of iceberg lettuce products sourced from central Mexico, linked to a multistate cyclospora outbreak affecting people across the U.S.

The company decided to remove certain products from store shelves after learning that Coast Citrus Distributors had recalled fresh jalapeños due to possible salmonella contamination. Recalled items include prepared foods like guacamole, pico de gallo, and taco dip. These products were distributed by Taylor Farms in numerous states and feature a “Best If Used By” date up to August 16, 2026. The affected products were sold at retail chains such as Kroger, Stop & Shop, Target, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and Walmart.

Taylor Fresh Foods noted that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are collaborating with state and local agencies to probe the multistate salmonella outbreak. The source identified is a grower in Sinaloa, Mexico, a supplier to Coast Citrus Distributors.

The company has discontinued sourcing from this grower and is now fulfilling orders through alternative suppliers. Taylor Fresh Foods has not reported any illnesses related to its products containing jalapeños.
