The Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships take place from Thursday through Sunday in Phoenix. NBC Sports and Peacock will broadcast the event live. The men’s competition occurs on Thursday at 10 p.m. ET and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET. Women’s events are on Friday at 10 p.m. ET and Sunday at 6 p.m. ET.
The men’s team is led by 2024 Olympic bronze medalists Frederick Richard and Stephen Nedoroscik. They are vying for spots on the team for the World Championships in Rotterdam, Netherlands, this October.
The men’s all-around champion earns a spot on the five-man team. He must also rank in the top three on at least three apparatus this week. The full men’s world team will be announced by Sunday.
The women’s team features 2024 Olympic gold medalists Jade Carey and Hezly Rivera. Carey is performing in her hometown. Neither woman can clinch a world team spot at nationals. Top gymnasts advance to a selection event in Crossville, Tennessee, this autumn. Here, the five-woman world team will be chosen.
Jade Carey returned to elite competition this season after the Paris Olympics. Hezly Rivera, the youngest U.S. athlete at 16 during the Paris Olympics, aims to repeat as U.S. all-around champion. Simone Biles is the only woman to do so in the last 13 years. Other strong contenders include Skye Blakely, who was the runner-up in 2024 but suffered an Achilles injury, and Reese Esponda, who won the U.S. Classic meet in July.
