Fans Rally for Return of Dannon’s Coffee Yogurt

Listeners can now access Fox News article audio. Dannon’s coffee-flavored yogurt, known for its dedicated followers, has vanished from store shelves, causing disappointment and a surge in substitute searches.

“In an unexpected move, Dannon recently discontinued their much-loved coffee yogurt flavor as of April 1,” states a Change.org petition urging the brand to revive the product. “This has left countless fans in dismay. Coffee yogurt offered a delightful mix of rich coffee flavor and creamy yogurt, making it a healthy and satisfying snack choice.”

The Wall Street Journal highlighted that each 5.3-ounce cup of Dannon’s coffee yogurt contained approximately 32 milligrams of caffeine, around a third of an 8-ounce coffee cup, and 11 grams of added sugar. New Jersey lawyer Doron Zeif, a long-time consumer, shared that he consumed it for 40 years. “It’s what I got out of bed for,” Zeif stated. Lisa Signorelli, a retiree from New York, frequently bought DCY in bulk to satisfy her “50-year obsession.”

The discontinuation has saddened yogurt enthusiasts, as the unique coffee taste was a cherished option. Social media responses reflect the same sentiment.

One Reddit user expressed significant withdrawal symptoms, “I’ve been happily eating it for years. Other companies offer coffee yogurt, but the texture mattered too.” Another user shared how their late grandmother enjoyed the yogurt daily, becoming a special memory.

In several forums, fans suggest mimicking the yogurt by adding instant or liquid coffee to other Dannon products. Some advised contacting Dannon directly to voice their preferences.

The Dannon Coffee Yogurt Fanatics Facebook page serves as a venue for fans offering alternative solutions. A “recovering fanatic” claimed that none of their DIY attempts matched DCY’s quality, though they found satisfaction with Icelandic Provisions Cold Brew Coffee Skyr.

Though Dannon’s president Rafael Acevedo indicated possible future availability, the flavor might evolve to meet today’s consumer preferences.

A Dannon Instagram post showing DCY invited users to share their thoughts, assuring updates. “I miss it so much,” voiced one user. “Nothing compares to the original coffee flavor.”

Dannon refrained from commenting directly to Fox News Digital.
