A shooting at an In-N-Out Burger in Twin Falls, Idaho resulted in the deaths of multiple people, including the suspect. Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks announced the incident at a news conference, mentioning ongoing efforts to identify the shooter and uncover their motive.

Hicks reassured the community that there was no longer an active threat. He noted that authorities were still confirming the number of casualties and injuries, with notifications to next of kin in progress. The scene was described as chaotic.

Before the news conference, County Commissioner Brent Reinke reported that five individuals were injured, based on information from Sheriff Jack Johnson.

“We believe the threat to the community is over,” said Chief Hicks.

An eyewitness, Lane Koehn, witnessed the shooting while stopped near the In-N-Out. He described seeing an individual with an AR-style rifle and another man with a pistol confronting the shooter. Koehn also saw an In-N-Out employee attempting to help a wounded colleague. Paramedics arrived shortly after.

The chaotic scene led Koehn to be evacuated by police, who stated the shooter had fired several rounds without a clear target.

The incident took place near a popular shopping area crowded with people, adding to the urgency for witnesses to come forward and assist police with investigations.

Commissioner Reinke, who also served as the former prison chief for Idaho, mentioned the rapid response of various agencies upon notification of the incident. Law enforcement advised the public to stay away from the location, closing roads to manage the situation.

St. Luke’s Magic Valley spokesperson, Taylor Marschner, confirmed the medical center’s collaboration with law enforcement and emergency teams.

Twin Falls, a city with a population of approximately 56,000, is located 130 miles southeast of Boise and 75 miles north of the Nevada state line.
