A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces continues to dominate the world of women’s basketball. Many hail her as the greatest, and some suggest she might be the best player overall.

In a recent conversation with ESPN’s Malika Andrews, Wilson expressed astonishment at being part of the ‘Greatest of All Time’ (GOAT) conversation. She said, “It’s crazy because of all the names on this GOAT list. I wouldn’t imagine being on it at this point. I have more to achieve and more ambition ahead of me, so when people call me that, I’m grateful but surprised.”

Despite her modesty, Wilson confidently added, “If I’m the GOAT, cool. I’ve felt that way since ’96, so it’s part of my journey.”

Wilson’s achievements are undisputed. She holds the titles of WNBA Defensive Player of the Year, WNBA MVP, WNBA Finals MVP, and WNBA champion. Notably, she is the first player in league history to achieve all four accolades in a single season. Drafted as the number one overall pick in 2018, this eight-time All-Star stands out as the only four-time MVP in the WNBA.

Prior to Thursday’s game, Wilson led the WNBA with an average of 26.2 points per game and 2.0 blocks per game. Over 25 games for the 19-8 Aces, she has averaged 26.2 points, 9.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.0 blocks, and 1.6 steals.

The Las Vegas Aces have secured three of the last four WNBA titles. They remain strong contenders to claim another championship this season.
