By July 27, 2026, an American woman vacationing in Grenada, Elizabeth Waddell, was reported missing. A friend, Amanda Romano-Harmon, has revealed that surveillance video captures Waddell’s last known activities.

Last Known Movements on Grand Anse Beach

Elizabeth Waddell, a resident of North Carolina, was last seen on July 22 at Grand Anse Beach in St. George’s, Grenada. According to Romano-Harmon, who also acts as the family spokesperson, the Royal Grenada Police Force has obtained surveillance footage showing Waddell moving towards the pier and entering the water. She can be seen floating and swimming before drifting out of the camera’s view, marking the last visual record of her activities.

Search Efforts and Family Involvement

Waddell was on a three-week vacation with a close friend, Heather Poole. Leaving their Airbnb around noon on the day she disappeared, Waddell did not return for several hours. Poole, concerned about her friend’s absence, discovered Waddell’s towel but found no other clues of her whereabouts. Romano-Harmon notes that Waddell had left only in a swimsuit with a towel, without a phone, ID, or shoes.

In an effort to aid the search, Waddell’s husband, Cailen Waddell, along with family members, has traveled to Grenada. He emphasized his wife’s warm and friendly nature, noting her gift for making friends easily. Local authorities are appealing to boaters and residents for any observations or information related to Waddell’s disappearance.

The U.S. State Department is aware of the case involving the missing American in Grenada. Meanwhile, police have not released any images from the surveillance footage.
