Ongoing Search for Missing American Woman in Grenada

The search continues for Elizabeth “Liz” Waddell, a 44-year-old woman from North Carolina, who disappeared while on vacation in Grenada. Waddell was last seen near Grand Anse Beach in St. George’s. Family friend reports suggest she went for a swim, leaving her towel on a pier.

Waddell was visiting Grenada with a companion and was staying at the Hideaway Waterfront Apartments. The Royal Grenada Police Force has called on fishermen, boat operators, and residents along the southern coastline for any information.

“She had her swimsuit on and was outside their Airbnb,” said family friend Amanda Romano-Harmon.

Waddell’s husband, Cailen, is traveling to Grenada to assist the search. He praised the police for their effective communication and efforts. He described his wife as loving and sociable.

An extensive search has involved police, divers, and students from St. George’s University. A bulletin describes Waddell as 5 feet, 5 inches tall with short blonde hair.

The U.S. State Department acknowledged the situation, emphasizing the importance of American safety abroad. They partner with local law enforcement for missing person cases. For further queries, they advise contacting Grenada’s police.
