Beatriz Hatz recently showcased her athletic prowess by securing a gold medal at the USA Track and Field Outdoor National Championships in New York City. The victory came in the T64 women’s long jump competition, marking a significant achievement for the 25-year-old athlete.

The T64 category is designed for athletes with moderate movement limitations in one lower leg or those missing one or both legs below the knee. Hatz previously competed in the Tokyo Paralympics in 2021, further establishing her credentials in the field of para-sports.

During the event, Hatz initially lagged behind Taleah Williams, another notable long jumper. However, she advanced in the fifth round, achieving a mark of 5.24 meters. Her performance peaked in the sixth round with a mark of 5.11 meters, securing her top position.

Some familiar faces from “Love Island USA,” including Sean Reifel and Amora Robinson, attended the championship to support her. Reifel expressed admiration in a video interview, referring to Hatz as a “monster” in the competition. Robinson also praised Hatz for her remarkable accomplishment.

Hatz’s gold medal win is especially commendable considering her limited training opportunities while participating in “Love Island USA.” Her usual training regimen involves lengthy sessions, but the constraints of life in the villa necessitated efficient practice.

Despite the challenges, Hatz adapted by incorporating her blade into her training activities. She shared in an interview that although her long jump drills and technical work were not widely broadcast, she continued her exercises diligently.
