Robbie Clark’s Commitment to Linh Mai

Robbie Clark, the head elephant caretaker at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo, was present for the birth of a 308-pound Asian elephant calf in February. When Linh Mai was born, her mother and grandmother rejected her, even behaving aggressively. Clark stepped in, staying at the zoo for an extended period to ensure her safety and well-being.

The rejection of Linh Mai by her family posed significant challenges. Left to fend for herself, the newborn was vulnerable and required immediate care. Clark’s dedication was pivotal in providing the necessary support.
