Social Media Influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate Arrested in Miami

Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate, both social media influencers, were taken into custody in Miami on Saturday. This followed a new announcement by British prosecutors of various criminal charges against them and a request for their extradition to the United Kingdom.

The U.S. Marshals Service executed the arrest in Miami, according to spokesperson Brady McCarron, who spoke to The Associated Press (AP). The arrests occurred after the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in the U.K. approved additional charges involving four more alleged victims and pushed for their extradition from the U.S.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the CPS disclosed that Andrew Tate, aged 39, is now facing seven more counts of rape. Additional charges include three counts of arranging or facilitating sexual exploitation, three counts of assault causing actual bodily harm, and 19 charges connected with indecent images of a child and extreme pornography.

Tristan Tate, aged 38, faces one charge of sexual assault, two charges of rape, and three charges for arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation. These alleged crimes took place between July 2010 and August 2017, bringing the total number of claimed victims to seven.

Both Tates have denied these allegations in the past. Following their arrest, their attorney, Joseph McBride, stated to the BBC that “the world knows Andrew and Tristan are innocent”.

This story is ongoing and will receive updates as more information becomes available.
