Milkshake, a mascot from the Agriculture Department, appeared at the Great American State Fair on June 29, which was called MAHA Monday.
The irony was highlighted in a Style article published on July 10. The piece titled “The deep-fried contradiction of MAHA and the fair” discussed the clash between promoting public health and the food offerings at the event.
MAHA Mondays aim to support the Make America Healthy Again movement, aiming to encourage healthier lifestyles. However, the State Fair’s food included options like corn dogs, jumbo chicken on a stick, and large servings of fries. These choices didn’t support the health message intended by the event organizers.
