Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce held their wedding celebration at Madison Square Garden on Friday. In honor of the event, the Empire State Building lit up in light blue. The building’s website confirmed it was ‘in celebration of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding at Madison Square Garden.’
On social media platform X, a message read, ‘Her something blue,’ a nod to the classic wedding saying ‘something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.’
Outside Madison Square Garden, displays featured the message, ‘JUST&T MARRIED!’ The initials T&T stood for Taylor and Travis. The event attracted large crowds, and the New York City Police Department secured the area with street closures and barricades to manage the extra foot traffic.
Many fans traveled significant distances to witness the event. Chloe Stanley from the UK remarked, ‘I couldn’t get tickets for the Eras Tour, so this is the closest I’ve been.’ Lindsay Perrin, along with her children, drove 12 hours from Indianapolis. She explained, ‘This is our royal wedding, a moment we didn’t want to miss.’
Despite the heat, Perrin believed the experience would be memorable for her children. Hanna Daidal, who flew in from Europe at the last minute, decided on Friday and by Sunday was en route to New York City.
According to sources, the wedding reception was expected to continue throughout the night into early Saturday morning.
