Interpol has identified a 39-year-old Ukrainian woman, Anastasiia Berezovska, as a suspect in a bombing incident in Monaco. This attack reportedly targeted a Ukrainian business magnate and his family.

The International Criminal Police Organization, on Friday, flagged Berezovska with a “Red Notice.” She is wanted in Monaco for charges of attempted murder and criminal intent, specifically for placing an explosive device on a public road.

Anastasiia Berezovska is characterized by a distinct tattoo of a snake stretching from her shoulder to her right elbow. Additionally, she is known to speak German.

Details of the Incident

According to Morgan Raymon, Monaco’s deputy public prosecutor, Berezovska’s last known address was in Germany. Authorities suspect she fled through France, then entered Italy using a rental car.

The explosion, which occurred on Monday, has rattled the small but wealthy nation of Monaco. Although Monaco authorities have not disclosed the victims’ names, reports from French and Ukrainian media suggest the attack targeted Vadym Yermolaiev. Yermolaiev, a 58-year-old businessman originally from Ukraine, now holds Cypriot nationality. The attack also involved his partner and his 13-year-old son.

Investigation Developments

Raymon announced that the bomb was remotely detonated. The fragments of the explosive are currently being analyzed in France.

Initial suspect identification described a seemingly male figure with a robust build, dressed in a dark long-sleeved shirt, light shorts, and a black bucket hat. Further review of CCTV footage and witness testimony, however, redirected focus to a woman disguising herself as a man.

This violent event has shocked Monaco, renowned for its significant population of affluent residents. Prince Albert II of Monaco condemned the incident, labeling it an “odious act.” He assured the public that all available services are dedicated to ensuring security across the state.
