Wind Gust Causes Metal Structure Collapse in Florida Resort

A sudden gust of wind led to a metal cabana frame crashing into a pool area at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The incident happened on Saturday evening at the DAER Club, a popular rooftop venue in Hollywood, Florida.

Reports indicated that strong winds impacted an outdoor section, causing the cabana structure to partially collapse. Five individuals sustained injuries and were taken to Memorial Regional Hospital. Their injuries were not life-threatening.

Videos circulating online captured guests and employees rushing to assist those trapped under the metal frame. Several people worked together to lift parts of the frame before emergency responders arrived.

The frame was propelled by the wind, leading it to crash near the resort’s pool deck, which was occupied by guests. Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino was contacted for a comment on the incident.

A witness shared on social media that he moved away from the area just before the collapse. He expressed shock at having narrowly avoided the mishap.

Fox News Digital had previously covered a similar weather-related incident where a lifeguard in New Jersey was struck by a beach umbrella during windy conditions. The lifeguard was conscious when responders arrived and received medical attention.

These incidents highlight the importance of securing outdoor equipment in windy conditions, especially at beaches and open-air venues.
