Closure of Investigation into Hulk Hogan’s Death

Hulk Hogan, the legendary professional wrestler, died of natural causes last year. This conclusion comes from a report released by the Clearwater Police Department, which formally closes the investigation into his death. The report, spanning 72 pages, details an extensive review of various sources, including statements, medical records, surveillance footage, and a visual inspection of Hogan’s body.

Known as Terry Bollea, Hogan passed away on July 24 at the age of 71. Police confirmed no evidence suggested his death resulted from anything other than natural causes. They investigated thoroughly and found no criminal aspects associated with his passing. Consequently, they have closed the case, deeming it solved and non-criminal.

“There has been no evidence to indicate the death of Terry Bollea was anything other than natural,” the report stated.

Hogan was at his home with his wife, Sky Daily Hogan, a home health aide, and an occupational therapist when he stopped breathing. His wife immediately called 911, and they all performed CPR until help arrived. Family members informed investigators that Hogan had faced several health challenges in the weeks leading up to his death. These included leukemia, an irregular heart rhythm, pneumonia, and kidney failure. He had undergone multiple hospitalizations and surgeries in prior years.

Initial police statements from the occupational therapist led to speculation about nerve damage from a recent surgery contributing to Hogan’s death. However, the therapist later clarified, saying he was distressed from CPR and misspoke. The local medical examiner determined Hogan died of a heart attack and did not perform a full autopsy. A privately funded autopsy confirmed the heart attack diagnosis, finding no traumatic or toxicological contributors.

Hogan’s career in WWE was distinguished by his commanding presence and numerous achievements. He played a significant role in the success of the first WrestleMania in 1985 and wrestled with icons like Andre The Giant, Randy Savage, The Rock, and Vince McMahon. Hogan secured at least six WWE championships and earned induction into the Hall of Fame in 2005. Although removed in 2015 due to controversies, he was reinstated in 2018.

A private funeral service, attended by many, took place in Largo, Florida, weeks after his passing.
