Odell Beckham Jr. is on the verge of making his NFL return. The former All-Pro wide receiver will participate in a workout with the New York Giants, as reported by Jordan Schultz. Beckham Jr. has not played in the league since the 2024 season, making this potential reunion a surprising turn of events.
The Giants are likely exploring this option after wide receiver Gunner Olszewski suffered a torn Achilles over the weekend. Beckham Jr. had previously spent the first five years of his career with the Giants, following his selection as the 12th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
His last appearance in an NFL game was on December 8, 2024, when he played for the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins released him a few days later. If Beckham Jr. plays for the Giants in Week 1, it would mark 644 days since his last NFL game.
During his time with the Dolphins, Beckham Jr. had nine receptions for 55 yards over nine games. Throughout his 10-year career, he has amassed 575 receptions for 7,987 yards and 59 touchdowns. Most of these achievements happened during his initial tenure with the Giants, where he secured 390 receptions for 5,476 yards and 44 touchdowns in 59 games.
Should the Giants decide to sign Beckham Jr., he will join a wide receiver group featuring 2026 third-round pick Malachi Fields, 2024 first-round pick Malik Nabers, and free-agent addition Darnell Mooney. The Giants ended last season ranked 21st in passing yards per game, averaging 204.4. Their previous leading receiver, Wandale Robinson, has since joined the Tennessee Titans as a free agent.
