Sara Carter vividly remembers the moment when key details of the Trump-Russia collusion narrative began to emerge. Initially skeptical, Carter, then working closely with investigative reporter John Solomon, uncovered information suggesting possible surveillance on President-elect Donald Trump.
Recalling the situation during a “Hang Out with Sean Hannity” podcast, Carter noted her interaction with Solomon. “I went into John’s office and I said, ‘John, I need to talk to you. I believe there are people in the FBI spying on President-elect Trump—the duly elected president of the United States.’”

Solomon was initially doubtful, but after consulting his sources, they continued their investigation. Gradually, Solomon was approached by unidentified government officials in 2017, who presented him with an unexpected revelation: he was beginning to uncover what might be an 11-year effort to undermine Trump.
During an April podcast, Solomon reminisced about this mysterious encounter. “We want to tell you that you’re at the tip of a very large iceberg and you need to keep drilling down,” the officials warned. This encounter occurred after Solomon’s appearance on Hannity’s TV show, where he discussed the rise in unmasking Americans’ communications.
As Solomon returned home, he encountered a government vehicle outside his residence. Two men stepped out, initially sparking fear of an arrest, but instead, they delivered a significant message. “Well, that thing you were talking about tonight on television… it’s far deeper,” said one of the men. Further urging Solomon to “keep looking,” they informed him of a complex political maneuver utilizing the intelligence community’s capabilities.
Sara Carter referenced these events during her conversation with Hannity. With the assistance of sources, she disclosed pivotal details. “I had my sources together, [and] together, we were able to unravel the beginnings of what was to be the most important story in American history,” Carter stated.
