In a tragic event during a neighborhood homecoming party in Vienna, Georgia, gunfire left two people dead and 35 injured early Sunday morning. The party, covering four blocks, turned chaotic at around 1:25 a.m., according to Dooly County Sheriff Craig Peavy.
In a press conference, Sheriff Peavy called the incident a “senseless act of violence.” He noted that the investigation into the incident is still ongoing and that no arrests have been made.
The victims who lost their lives have been identified as Ja’Quavion Aderious Jackson, 21, and Macaleb Malik Jackson, 23. Among the 35 injured, ages vary from 14 to 51, with conditions ranging from stable to critical, stated Peavy.
