The Buffalo Bills received some encouraging injury news following their narrow 29–26 loss to the New England Patriots. Wide receiver DJ Moore left the game in the second quarter after a hard fall on his left shoulder during an attempted pass from quarterback Josh Allen.
Moore initially injured his shoulder in Week 2, creating concern about his playing time. He has managed to avoid missing games, although he has been limited in practices. With his recent injury, worries rose about missing future games.
Despite re-aggravating his shoulder, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the injury is not anticipated to be a long-term issue. This report brings relief as Moore might play in Week 5. The Bills have additional rest time ahead of their upcoming ‘Monday Night Football’ game against the Los Angeles Rams.
Buffalo is eager to have Moore return to the field, especially against the unpredictable Rams next week. Moore was a key player for Allen, catching 11 passes for 167 yards in the first three weeks of the season. On Sunday, Keon Coleman surpassed Moore as the top receiver, accumulating 217 yards after Moore’s early exit.
Coleman is taking advantage of the opportunity to address doubts cast by Bills’ owner Terry Pegula in January. He played a central role in a controversy regarding the 2024 draft pick choice, with the team previously expressing concerns about his performance, leading to his inactive status last season. The scenario changed when Buffalo acquired Moore from the Chicago Bears.
Moore is expected to remain Allen’s primary target, while Coleman aims to demonstrate his value as a viable second option.
