National Museum of African American History and Culture Celebrates 10th Anniversary

On its 10th anniversary, the National Museum of African American History and Culture is highlighting artists who critique power through their works. The “Revelation” exhibition features contributions from 38 painters, photographers, and sculptors.

Since its inception in 2016, the museum reshaped the National Mall, offering a comprehensive view of the nation’s Black history from its early roots to the current era. It quickly became a cornerstone for the Smithsonian Institution, establishing itself as a foundational exhibit of national importance.

Visitors can explore diverse artworks that challenge and examine themes of authority and influence, reflecting on significant historical moments and contemporary issues. This exhibition underscores the museum’s role in presenting powerful narratives through art.
