In Las Vegas, WWE star Roxanne Perez is close to claiming her first championship in The Judgment Day faction. This month might mark that change as she competes for the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship. Her journey begins with a fatal four-way match against La Hiedra, Faby Apache, and Nattie during Night 1 of Triplemania 34. The winner earns a title shot at Worlds Collide.
During a recent event at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio, WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Raquel Rodriguez celebrated her victory alongside Roxanne Perez and Liv Morgan. Usually, The Judgment Day supports each other at Monday Night Raw events. This time, Roxanne Perez steps up independently.
Perez spoke to OutKick Dropkick about her determination. “I think they know I got this,” she said. “Being around champions with no main roster title opportunities pushed me to AAA. ‘The Prodigy’ doesn’t stay still or comfortable. I went to AAA for my championship chance.”
This will be Perez’s debut at Triplemania, AAA’s main showcase. She reflected on her journey, sharing that she first received an AAA training opportunity at age 16. Her parents were hesitant, so she didn’t go. Now, as a WWE superstar, she finds herself at AAA, representing her Mexican and Puerto Rican roots.
“I’ve trained for WWE since age 13. At 16, AAA invited me to train and perform,” Perez shared. “Now, AAA is tied with WWE, so I’m grabbing this chance without needing anyone’s permission. Representing my culture here is a great honor.”
Though Perez acknowledges the challenge, she’s ready for the championship opportunity at Worlds Collide. “It’s a big task, but I intend to seize this chance and become Reina de Reinas champion,” she expressed. “I respect every competitor. La Hiedra knows AAA well, Nattie blazed trails in WWE, and Faby Apache is a Lucha Libre legend.”
Perez is determined not to let this chance slip away. “‘The Prodigy’ has endured much in the past decade. I’ve waited long for this opportunity and won’t let it slip,” she emphasized.
Triplemania 34 Night 1 starts at 10 p.m. ET at MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. Night 2 will occur at Arena CDMX in Mexico City. Both events are available on YouTube.
