A shooting inside a home in Gaston County, North Carolina resulted in two deaths and left two others critically injured on Thursday morning. The Gaston County Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting gunfire and found four victims with gunshot wounds inside the residence.

Two of the individuals were declared dead at the scene, while the other two were taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. The victims were inside a home on Forbes Road where officers attempted lifesaving measures prior to the arrival of emergency crews.

A person of interest has been identified, but police have not disclosed further details. Authorities suspect the suspect and victims were familiar with one another, and they consider the shooting an isolated incident. There is no known ongoing threat to the community.
