A doctor from North Carolina, Dr. Richard Thomas Arriviello, age 61, faced arrest on August 22. The arrest followed an alleged road rage incident where he reportedly fired into a Jeep, injuring two sisters, aged 12 and 20, as noted by the Virginia State Police.
The incident occurred as Arriviello drove a Mercedes-Benz north on Interstate 77, approximately three miles past the North Carolina-Virginia border, around 8:50 a.m. According to a state police press release, Arriviello allegedly shot into the moving Jeep, hitting the sisters in their legs.
Both victims were airlifted to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police confirmed.
