Jed York Arrested in Ohio: Details of the Case and Consequences

San Francisco 49ers owner and CEO John “Jed” York was arrested and arraigned in East Palestine, Ohio. He faced charges related to “engaging in prostitution” and “possessing criminal tools.” These charges were later amended to misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools, according to court records.

York was arrested Sunday morning and released on a $5,000 bond that afternoon, as confirmed by the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred at the Wheat Hill Mobile Home Community, a trailer park in East Palestine. The East Palestine police directed inquiries to the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force, which has not provided further comment.

York appeared in Columbiana County Municipal Court on Monday morning and entered a plea of no contest to the misdemeanor charges. Following a plea agreement filed by the prosecutor, York was sentenced to two days in jail, with credit given for one day served and ordered to pay $1,150 in fines.

York’s actions are subject to NFL discipline under its Personal Conduct Policy. “We are aware of the matter which will be reviewed under the personal conduct policy,” the NFL stated in response to the incident.

San Francisco 49ers released a statement asserting that, as the legal matter has concluded, they will offer no further comment on the issue.

York, 46, has held the position of majority owner of the 49ers since 2024, having previously served as the CEO. He is originally from Youngstown, Ohio.
