A man in Kansas contacted 911 on Tuesday, reporting that he had killed his family. Tragically, this included his four children and wife. As police officers arrived at the Winfield residence, the suspect turned the gun on himself.

Police Chief Robbie DeLong explained that the first officer heard a gunshot upon approaching the house and then retreated. Authorities established a perimeter around the property due to the uncertainty of an active threat within.

After approximately two hours, officers forced entry into the home near 9th Avenue and Stewart Street. Inside, they tragically discovered six deceased individuals in what appeared to be a murder-suicide.

The suspected shooter was identified as Ronald H. Williams Sr., aged 53, who was the same individual who made the 911 call. His victims were mentioned as Kelly L. George, 44, and children Carol A. Williams, 9, Ronald H. Williams Jr., 7, Sarah K. Williams, 5, and Kelly M. Magee-Williams, 3.

Reports from KWCH 12 News highlighted that Williams Sr. had a lengthy criminal history in Kansas. He was listed as a registered sex offender since June 1997. His criminal record spanned several years, including felony charges for crimes such as drug-related offenses, battery, assault on law enforcement, attempted rape, and kidnapping, across several eastern Kansas counties.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the Winfield Police Department have initiated a thorough investigation into the case.
