Julie Paul, the 61st witness in the trial, testified for the prosecution on Monday. She stated that she had prescribed psychiatric medication to Clancy but noted that Clancy never disclosed any thoughts of self-harm or intentions to harm her children. Paul’s cross-examination is scheduled for Tuesday morning in Plymouth Superior Court, although the start may be delayed as Judge William Sullivan needs to confer with the attorneys involved.

Potential Outcomes

If convicted of first-degree murder, Clancy faces life imprisonment without parole. Alternatively, if the jury, composed of 12 women and 6 men, determines she was not criminally responsible, she’ll be committed to a state psychiatric facility in Massachusetts.
