Tragic Incident in New York City
New York City’s crime policies are under scrutiny following the death of 12-year-old Jacob Freytes. He was killed by a stray bullet in the Bronx. His mother, Migdalia Martinez, and sister, Angelica Coriano, spoke on ‘Fox & Friends’. They demand justice and criticize the suspect’s extensive arrest record.
Martinez believes career criminals feel too safe under current policies. She calls for stronger crime laws to prevent future tragedies.
Machete Attack in Florida
In a separate incident, a Florida man, Ruben Altidore, aged 36, faces serious charges after attacking his sister with a machete. The assault occurred as his sister slept beside her 1-year-old daughter in Margate, near Miami.
The attack left his sister with severe injuries, including a 10-inch wound on her thigh, serious cuts on her hands, and near amputations of several fingers. Fortunately, the child remained unharmed despite being covered in blood.
Details of the Incident
During the assault, Altidore reportedly shouted, ‘Oh my God, why aren’t you dead yet?’ His sister escaped and sought help from a neighbor. Her screams were captured on surveillance cameras.
A cousin confirmed the attack to investigators, and a neighbor recounted hearing her desperate cries for help. Blood was found throughout her home, leading from her bedroom to the bathroom and outside.
Arrest and Charges
Police arrested Altidore and charged him with attempted felony murder, aggravated child abuse, and probation violation. He is held without bond at the Broward County Main Jail.
Investigators found a machete sheath in the kitchen and a machete with red smudges under a bed. The motive for the attack is still unknown.
