An Ohio man accused of shoplifting made a dramatic escape attempt by leaping onto a woman’s car on the highway to evade police, as captured in a video.

Police Pursuit in Ohio

Two men faced allegations of shoplifting at a Kroger store and were stopped by Miami Township police on July 27. One suspect, Kaamil O’Berry, fled from the vehicle on foot, according to WKRC.

O’Berry ran over the I-75 on-ramp, trying to escape the officers. Footage shows him crossing a grassy area beside the interstate during the chase.

Interstate Drama Unfolds

As O’Berry attempted to elude capture, he ran onto the interstate and jumped onto the hood of a woman’s car. The car continued to move.

The suspect clung to the car hood, disappearing from the camera’s view, allegedly trying to seize control of the vehicle. In the process, he damaged the windshield.

Eventually, O’Berry fell from the vehicle and was detained. Authorities transported him to a nearby hospital, as reported in the video.

The charges against O’Berry include obstructing official business, theft, and aggravated robbery. His companion, David Sutter, faces a charge of complicity to theft.
