A part of a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is expected to collide with the moon soon, marking only the second known occurrence of a human-made object unintentionally striking the lunar surface. Despite this rarity, the moon’s surface bears countless marks from impacts over time.

On July 21, a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket had launched from Space Force Station’s Launch Complex 40 in Cape Canaveral, Florida. The rocket now stands as unintentional debris headed for a lunar impact.
