Pro Bowl offensive lineman Andrus Peat announced his retirement on Friday through a social media post. At 32, Peat steps away from his NFL career after playing 11 seasons. He was selected 13th overall in the 2015 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints, having played college football at Stanford.

In his Instagram post, Peat expressed gratitude for his journey in the league: “11 years in the league, I gave it everything I had. I may be walking away from football, but not from the lessons it taught me. Thank you to my coaches, teammates, and especially my brothers in the trenches. I’m grateful beyond words that I was able to live out this dream,” he wrote.

Peat, who spent the majority of his career with the Saints, was their starting left guard for nine seasons. He achieved Pro Bowl recognition three times consecutively from 2018 to 2020. He played a crucial role in the Saints’ offensive line during their consecutive NFC South titles from 2017 to 2020.

After the 2023 season, Peat joined the Las Vegas Raiders, contributing as veteran depth on their offensive line. He participated in 15 games, starting one. Later, he moved to the Pittsburgh Steelers, appearing in six games and starting three.

Reflecting on the importance of family, Peat included in his announcement: “On to the next chapter with my wife and sons. All glory to God!” His wife, Ashley, shared a heartfelt comment under his post, expressing pride and anticipating their new journey.
