Former Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene from Georgia voiced criticism against War Secretary Pete Hegseth. She accused him of “bloodlust” following his social media post about U.S. service members who died during the ongoing conflict with Iran.
Hegseth had posted on X, sharing a U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announcement regarding the deaths of American troops in Jordan. He wrote, “Godspeed, heroes. Their sacrifice only stiffens our resolve.” Greene reacted on social media, questioning the notion of “sacrifice” in the context of their deaths. She contended that the troops were killed due to the war supported by Hegseth, Trump, and the administration, suggesting it was on behalf of Israel.

Joe Kent, a former counterterrorism official, has consistently advocated for the withdrawal of U.S. military forces from the Middle East. Greene’s statements align with this sentiment, calling for an end to what she referred to as an “America LAST war.”
Tension arose after CENTCOM reported that two U.S. service members were killed in action in Jordan while defending against Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks. Additionally, another service member was reported missing.
Greene further expressed her concern and prayers for the families of the fallen soldiers, urging President Trump to bring the troops back home. She insists that such sacrifices should not be happening.
As CENTCOM continued to update, they reported the discovery of unidentified remains in Jordan, following a comprehensive search. An examination is in progress to confirm the identity of the remains.
In a separate incident, a U.S. service member died in Iraq due to a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance, with another soldier sustaining injuries and undergoing medical treatment.
