The health issues began during his tour opener in Minnesota. Richie felt dizzy and postponed upcoming shows. The United Center initially announced the cancellations of his concerts in Chicago and Columbus, Ohio. A statement on Instagram mentioned doctors’ advice for Richie to rest and fully recover. Despite Richie’s heartbreak over postponements, he was eager to return to performing.

The St. Paul Fire Department confirmed that someone was transported from the Grand Casino Arena to a local hospital.
