Spencer Pratt’s Claims Against Los Angeles Leaders
Spencer Pratt, known for his reality television past, has made bold claims against Los Angeles political figures. He stated he possesses audio recordings that might compel either Mayor Karen Bass or City Councilmember Nithya Raman to resign. These events mark an intensifying conflict following his loss in the city’s mayoral primary election.
In a recent social media video, Pratt asserted he is now free from campaign rules and plans to disclose a recording of potentially incriminating behavior by Bass or Raman. Though he offered no details about the recordings or proof to support his allegations, he challenged both leaders to consider the possibility of such recordings existing.
“Karen and Nithya, ask yourself,” Pratt continued, “is it possible that one of your employees may have a recording of you doing and saying something that would force you to resign in disgrace?”
Newsweek reached out to Raman and Bass’s offices for comments regarding Pratt’s allegations.
Pratt Declares ‘War’ on Political Opponents
Pratt, who ran as an independent candidate, gained unexpected traction during the mayoral race. However, he did not succeed in the June 2 primary, where the candidates with the most votes moved on to the general election. Bass, the Democratic incumbent, secured her place with 34.3 percent of the vote, while Raman ultimately won over Pratt and earned the second position with 29 percent compared to Pratt’s 25.5 percent.
Now that his campaign is over, Pratt feels unrestrained. He declared “war” on his Democratic counterparts, warning them about potential legal troubles, suggesting that law enforcement intervention was imminent.
Pratt’s Campaign Approach
Spencer Pratt’s entry into the mayoral race marked a dramatic shift in the usual political dynamics. After the 2025 wildfires rendered his Pacific Palisades home destroyed, he painted himself as an outsider challenging a perceived flawed City Hall system. His campaign accentuated social media use and viral content to gather nationwide attention and earn support, including a notable endorsement from President Donald Trump.
Focusing on critical issues such as homelessness and public safety, Pratt argued that existing leadership didn’t address the community’s urgent needs. His slogan, “Enough is enough,” served to rally supporters discontented with the present political structure.
Meanwhile, Raman championed progressive change and campaigned for housing affordability and improved city services. Bass, defending her tenure, maintained her leadership strategies were effective despite criticism.
Pratt’s Determination to Continue
Though he didn’t proceed to the runoff, Pratt has no intention of abandoning political activities. He expressed a commitment to challenging the current political system, describing himself as intent on exposing corruption.
His video message included stark warnings about the future of Los Angeles under ongoing leadership, declaring his focus on preventing further decay.
