Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is nearing his wedding day with famous fiancée Taylor Swift, scheduled for July 3. The high-profile event at Madison Square Garden in New York City is expected to cost around $20 million.
Despite the personal milestone, questions arose about whether these wedding plans have impacted Kelce’s performance during the Chiefs’ organized team activities (OTAs) and mandatory minicamp. However, head coach Andy Reid offered reassurance about Kelce’s focus and commitment.
“Can’t talk about it,” Reid joked, referring to the non-disclosure agreements signed by the wedding guests, preventing them from revealing any details of the event.
“He’s been here most of the offseason — if not the whole offseason — so he’s been around,” Reid confirmed. “It’s good to have him here. He did the mandatory camp and did a nice job there, so it’s good to have him back in and rolling. He’s very excited. You see no distractions with him and the wedding.”
Reid humorously noted his own approach to wedding planning, suggesting that Kelce may be taking a similar path by following his future wife’s lead.
Kelce’s attendance at all OTAs and minicamp sessions has been consistent. The timing of the wedding, weeks before training camp in late July, shows a deliberate adjustment to fit the Chiefs’ offseason schedule.
Further information reveals that Kelce and Swift have chosen to delay their honeymoon. Instead, they plan a multi-week trip later this year, covering destinations in Asia, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Italy, and Paris.
