Marjorie Taylor Greene Criticizes Trump and His Team on CNN

Greene’s Criticism of Trump’s Team

During a CNN appearance with Kaitlan Collins, Marjorie Taylor Greene, a former Republican U.S. Representative, criticized President Donald Trump. Greene argued that Trump’s staff are “making him look like a fool” by failing to address his previous statements about avoiding wars. She highlighted Trump’s campaign promises to refrain from “new wars” and foreign military entanglements.

This criticism follows the administration’s justification of military action in response to incidents in the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. Central Command revealed Trump’s authorization of “self-defense” strikes after a U.S. Apache helicopter incident attributed to Iran. However, questions remain about whether the helicopter was intentionally targeted or collided with an Iranian drone.

Past Allegiance and Current Criticism

Greene’s remarks are significant given her previous loyalty to Trump before their fallout over the Jeffrey Epstein files. Trump has publicly criticized Greene, labeling her “wacky.” In a prior interview with ABC’s Kristen Welker, Trump maintained he never promised no wars, asking why he built a strong military. Greene emphasized Trump’s past promises to prevent foreign wars.

“The president’s comms team isn’t helping,” Greene stated, alluding to rebuffed claims he never opposed foreign wars. Greene referenced video evidence of Trump making such promises, insisting Trump’s team should have informed him of his prior commitments to the public to avoid reputational damage.

Military Confrontations and Political Differences

The retaliatory strikes highlight tensions between Trump’s anti-war stance and emerging military conflicts. Greene noted the online presence of these videos is unavoidable, emphasizing accountability.

Ongoing Military Strikes

On Wednesday, CENTCOM announced new self-defense strikes on Iranian targets, responding to “continued aggression.” Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed the Strait of Hormuz’s closure, but CENTCOM countered, confirming commercial shipping continued through the region.

Fox News’ Trey Yingst reported Iranian officials contacted Trump in the Situation Room, requesting an end to the bombings. Trump reportedly assured the strikes would soon cease.
