The footage, taken at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, attracted nearly 6 million views on TikTok, igniting widespread online support.

Passenger Lacinda Thackeray filmed the worker, identifying signs of significant discomfort while he performed his duties.

“Watching him work so hard — he could barely move — truly broke my heart,” Thackeray expressed.

James Blair, identified as the worker in the video, is a U.S. Navy veteran who previously served as an aircraft mechanic before transitioning to refueling planes.

Years of arduous work have contributed to physical hardships, particularly affecting his knees, he shared with CBS News.

Despite chronic pain, Blair continued working and also cared for his 90-year-old mother, who is under hospice care.

The video prompted viewers to donate funds for Blair’s medical expenses, surpassing the $135,000 mark toward a $200,000 goal.

Blair described the donations as life-changing, alleviating some financial strains linked to his medical issues.

Messages of encouragement flooded the video’s comments from friends and strangers touched by Blair’s story.
