President Donald Trump has unveiled a lineup of performers for a rally in Washington D.C. This event will commemorate America’s 250th anniversary.
In a Truth Social post, Trump shared, “We will have the fabulous Lee Greenwood introducing me with the all-time classic ‘God Bless the U.S.A.’ Joining us as well, the talented Christopher Macchio will sing ‘Nessun Dorma,’ ‘Hallelujah,’ ‘Ave Maria,’ ‘God Bless America,’ and more.”
Also featured in the rally will be performances by the U.S. Army Band, the U.S. Marine Band, and the Joint Armed Forces Chorus. Trump confirmed his own participation, stating, “PLUS a fine and highly dignified gentleman known as, President DONALD J. TRUMP!”
This announcement follows the withdrawal of several performers from the Freedom 250 celebration events. In response to the withdrawals, Trump joked about replacing what he described as “highly paid, Third Rate ‘Artists'” with a speech from himself, claiming to be “the Number One Attraction anywhere in the World” and asserting he draws “much larger audiences than Elvis in his prime.”
The story is still unfolding and more updates will follow.
